Louis J. Riceberg, PhDLouis J. Riceberg, Ph.D. [Lou], Principal of BioBridge Strategies, received his doctorate in biochemistry from Brandeis University. Immediately after graduating, Lou went to work as a laboratory supervisor at Corning Medical, where he was responsible for the development of several radioimmunoassays. After developing a project management system, Lou became the technology representative on a global business team and was responsible for translating market needs into technology specifications. Lou and his family moved to Japan, where they lived between 1983 and 1987. Lou had a number of management positions and led the effort in strategy and business development. With the formation of the joint venture between Ciba Geigy and Corning Medical Lou became more familiar with pharmaceutical operations and intrigued by potential synergies. Upon his return to the U.S., Lou was responsible for strategy and business development and initiated a number of key strategic and operational programs. With the acquisition of Ciba Corning by Ciba Geigy in 1990, Lou became the liaison officer between the diagnostics business and the rest of Ciba Geigy. In this capacity he developed a broad range of synergistic programs with the pharmaceutical division as well as the corporate research groups, as well as being responsible for technology strategy. With the acquisition of Chiron Diagnostics, Lou maintained responsibility on the Executive Committee and was intimately involved in strategic planning and was Chairman of the Office of Technology. After the acquisition by Bayer Diagnostics, Lou left the company and became an independent consultant focusing on business and technology strategies in a broad range of industries, with a focus on financial and business modeling as well as commercial and technology strategies.
Harald Rinde, MD, MBAHarald Rinde is Principal at BioBridge Strategies, a global consulting firm that identifies how Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Diagnostic Companies can develop and position their unique technologies or products for maximum clinical and economic impact in the healthcare marketplace. BioBridge Strategies develops strategic and operational solutions for companies focusing on the "new biology". BioBridge Strategies has recently been part of a comprehensive project analyzing the impact and opportunities of diagnostic procedures and tools in key diseases in developing countries, which has been funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. Harald is a Medical Doctor and has an MBA from Kellogg, Northwestern University. He has practiced as a General Practitioner in Norway and worked in General and Plastic Surgery in Norway and the US. He has worked in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries in senior management positions for over 20 years developing and commercializing a broad range of products and services. His area of expertise also includes health-economics, with a specialization in pharmaceutical and diagnostic product health economic modeling, healthcare structure and practices in developing and developed worlds and quantification of opportunities in the healthcare market.
Anke-Peggy Holtorf, PhD, MBAAnke-Peggy Holtorf joined the BioBridge Strategies core team in 2004 and is Business Director for Europe. Her areas of interest include outcomes research and health economics as it relates to the product value proposition, market access strategy, product / service synergies, and marketing and business development strategy. Anke-Peggy has served as visiting faculty at the University of Utah between 2006 and 2007 and remains adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, where she in addition to her academic contributions participated as investigator in a variety of studies conducted by the Pharmacotherapy Outcomes Research Center. She also helped to establish a discussion series between decision makers and academics to advance the utilization of observational (‘Real World’) evidence in the process of decision making in healthcare. Anke-Peggy is member of the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and of HTAi. Anke-Peggy obtained her PhD in Sciences from the Philipps University in Marburg (Germany) and her MBA from the the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) and looks back on over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry in research and marketing with global responsibilities. Among others, she was responsible for the global Disease Management activities and strategy of Novartis Pharma, AG. Between 2000 and 2004, Anke-Peggy managed the biotech business unit of a midsized Swiss chemical company and held a seat in the executive committee. |
